The power sector is keeping up a steady stream of orders for a starved engineering industry. Siemens, the Indian subsidiary of German engineering major Siemens AG, has got an Rs 360 crore order from Power Grid Corporation of India. The orders are to supply two 765kva substation packages to be set up at Gaya in Bihar and Ranchi in Jharkhand.
Siemens will do turnkey implementation for the project, meaning it will do the entire job from design to commissioning of the power station. Siemens will also supply from its product range, products like capacitor voltage transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, surge arrestors and automation equipment. The order is to be completed in 27 months. Siemens’ share price was unchanged at Rs 555, at around 1.30pm.
